and now for something slightly different
this falls into the "and stuff" of photos of food and stuff
Happy new year to those who celebrate!
A photo of some food to keep you interested (yes that is thick cut bacon hanging)
Barely into January and my first newsletter of the year is out. Look at me, being a go getter and all that! If you noticed, these are not monthly or quarterly newsletters. I tried that, and honestly the pressure of writing something that wasn’t forced and full of BS was something I didn’t like. So I write them when I feel like I have something to say. This one is still full of BS, just not forced. :)
What’s new then? Let’s start with something old first. When I started picking up a camera again as an adult I was living in NYC and many of my friends were in the entertainment industry. I started my pro career doing headshot photography for them. It was a blast working with friends, learning how to use my camera, and develop my “patter” as I called it. My patter was things I would say to inform the actors how to pose, but also to evoke emotions from them. Being that I came from a world of stand up comedy making people laugh came easy to me.
When I moved to Boston, and decided to move back into photography full time, I purposely choose food and product as the work was mainly during the weekdays, as opposed to nights and weekends. I truly love it, but always did some “people” photography as well. Corporate headshots, portraits, lifestyle…etc.
I love working with people.
It got to the point that I was noticed by a national modeling school and asked to become their regional model photographer. I now shoot models and some fashion. It has really sparked me creatively and I forgot how much I love the collaboration with model, and makeup artist.
Here are some photos I do for the modeling school. These images are basic comp card images on white.

Doing this work inspired me. I love that old Hollywood glamour look (my heart goes out to everyone in LA, and hope the fires get contained quickly), so I put out a casting call and did a full day shoot to master that old lighting style.

There will be more model shoots coming!

Pickleball Season is coming! (you read that right)
I have featured them before but if you play pickleball you NEED to check out
ZZStart
They are a local Boston brand that makes high end, stylish Pickleball Bags. They recently added more bags for non pickleball players, including duffels, cross tote, and super cute bag letters.

3 By Me
Three restaurants i think you should try
Lucky 777 Bar and Grill
777 Plymouth St Suite A, Holbrook, MA 02343
This place is the quintessential bar food. Huge burgers, hanging bacon, wings dripping in sauce. The place is large with an outside area, pool table, and everything you would want.
Strawberry Fair
14 Pond St, Norwell, MA 02061
Breakfast in a quaint old building. They make their own strawberry jam and preserves. Type of place you have a delicious breakfast then go farm the north forty acres. You won’t leave hungry

Al’s Cafe
114 State Street, Boston
This is a Boston landmark. When I worked in the financial district I would go to their State Street location. Large sandwiches at great prices and a Boston experience. When you walk in, the menu is on the wall, one side for hot sandwiches, one side for cold. If you got to the front of the line and didn’t know what you wanted you would be kicked out.

As always, thanks for reading, clicking, sharing, subscribing, commenting, and all that. Sending newsletters into the void only to find it staring back is never fun.

I love your BS. Forced or not. Cool photos. Thanks.
