Hello everyone,
A HUGE announcement! For those of you following my “quit the day job and pursue my dreams” journey, this is big. As of June 1st, I signed a lease for my very own studio. For the last few years I have been shooting out my basement (Boston basements are low ceiling, stone wall, fight moisture nightmares), a portrait photographers studio, and a newborn photographers studio….but now I have one that is all mine. While I loved sharing space with some very gracious photographers, being able to have my equipment up and ready to go is going to do wonders for my workflow, tracking, and allow me to really get more creative. Super excited about it. I am still moving in, cleaning, and setting up, but you can see a photo below showing how it is coming together (and how much work there is still to do), but I am already taking photos in it!
Branding
Stretchmed
https://stretchmedstudios.com/
As you know, food photography is my bread and butter (mmmm….butter), but I also do a lot of branding images for local business and have been very busy with a lot of new clients. I was lucky enough to work with StretchMed, a local franchise of assisted stretching. Actually, I was a client of theirs before I photographed for them. If you have ever had a hard work out with a trainer, the last ten minutes of the session they give you an assisted stretch. The benefits of this cannot be over stated. It helps with mobility, and recovery. That is exactly what StretchMed does, but the sessions are 50 minutes. Every time I go, I feel 100% better after. If you haven’t tried it, check out the website below….they have multiple locations across the country. These photos (and links) are local to me in the Needham, MA location.
Mass Bay Movers
Mass Bay Movers reached out to me to get some branding shots. The emphasis of these images were for the clients to get to know the people who would be handling their treasured possessions. I spent a full day with what has to be the nicest, strongest people I have ever met. At the end of the day getting to know this team I realized that a big reason they worked so well is because the owner treats them so well. I got a real sense of family from them. They care about each other and the company, and that translates into them caring about their work.
Also, bragging a little (Ok, a lot)….but such a thrill to see my work on billboards and buses. WOOT!

3 By Me
3 places I photographed for and got to try the food.
The 60’s Diner 1210B Providence Hwy, Norwood, MA 02062
Wow! Talk about a throwback. The moment I walked in I was in love with this place. Bright colors, the hip cool decor, the music. Then the food came out. Fresh vibrant takes on classics, with huge portions. The breakfast can feed you for the whole day (try the Chuck Berry French Toast)….and look at the Big Bopper Roast beef sandwich in the gallery. It is diner food done amazingly well, and the positive vibes of the place left me feeling groovy all day.

Ya’s Chicken 90 Middlesex Turnpike, Burlington, MA 01803
They advertise as “insanely good chicken”, and they ain’t lying. I love me some good fried chicken, some amazing Korean fried chicken (with kimchi slaw? You kidding me!?!?!) and also sorts of chicken and waffles (Ube waffles? you are kidding me, Kidding my taste buds into heaven!).
Go, eat, thank me later.

SvenFish Fish Market 25 Powder Mill Rd, Acton, MA 01720
Not going to overstate this. Just a simple fish market with the freshest product I have ever seen. Simply gorgeous and an honor to photograph. The poke bowls are delicious, and I dream about them weekly.

As always, I never really expect that anyone reads this stuff. So thank you and appreciation to those of you who do. You help keep my dream alive by reading this. Well, you reading this and money. You get the point.
Cheers,
Mark
Great write up and super congratulations on your new studio.
Very happy for you, Mark.
