Happy Spring to you all. In Boston we recently had three hours in a row of 72 degree weather with the sun out. Can’t wait till it happens again next year.
My photography journey continues, with new beginnings, and stuff on hold, so I thought I would share what I have been up to. First off, new stuff.
Summer Camp!
Are you ready for the summer? Are you ready for a good time? I am super happy to announce that I have joined Big Picture Art House here in Boston as a Summer Camp photography instructor. This camp caters to young Bostonians and teaches them the basics of camera exposure, composition, and the joy of photography. A few weeks ago during spring break I was fortunate enough to join the program and take the kids around China Town and other areas here in Boston. I am looking forward to the longer sessions this summer and all the excursions. If you have a teen in the Boston area who is looking for something to do this summer there are still some spaces available.

Spring and a personal project
I have been working with so many models lately it has really inspired me. I have access to models, an amazing makeup artist, my own studio, and time to try concepts. Below is the first of a four image series to represent the seasons.
Model: Marina Kydes
Makeup Artist: Lexie Artistry
Photographer: Mark Manne
The uncertain stuff.
I am still primarily a food and product photographer, however you may have noticed I am doing more model/fashion and event photography. That is because of the current uncertainty with this new administration. With tariffs about to make everything more expensive I have had two product clients cancel photoshoots they were planning for this year, another client deciding to burn through current inventory and then decide if they can stay in business (they import branded swag items like hats and keychains for casino giveaways), and another client decide they are putting off all photoshoots till next year.
Is this what is meant by trickle down economics?
What is getting me through this is a conversation I had with one business owner. While governments and policies can be stupid, individuals can be smart. Business owners will find a way through this, and then hopefully my services will needed again. Till then, I continue to pivot to events and models (and restaurants are still open) to make my living.
So, continuing with the pivot to other sources of revenue….I have made a picfair site to sell some of my landscape and travel photography on canvass and other prints. If you would like some new art for your walls and/or want to support my work, please check out the link below for images of Africa, Italy, Hawaii, New England Fall, etc

3 By Me
I don’t know why….but i am featuring pizza places I like this time
Peel Pizza
73 South St, Hingham, MA 02043
This pizza place has a number of locations but is still family owned. They make their own dough and see a pizza as a blank canvass, so they are always trying new things. Potatoes and sausage on a pizza? Who am I to say no?

Sea Street Pizza
12 Sea St, Weymouth, MA 02191
This pizzeria was recently bought by a local young man, who has a passion for the business. He revamped the menu, makes his own dough and grates his own cheese. He knows that he needs to be involved in every aspect of the business to make it work, and his passion shows in everything he does.
Worth noting their website is being updated.

Stone L’Oven
8 Washington St, Canton, MA 02021
What can I say about this delicious pizza? The owner went to MIT, then hated the rat race so much he decided to open his own place twenty years ago and never looked back. He loves what he does and it shows. A lot of times after photoshoots I am sent home with food. They sent me home with so much I gave a lot to my veterinary hospital (I have two dogs and a cat). Every time I come in they rave about the food I dropped off weeks ago.

As always, thanks for taking time to catch up with my various things. Every like, heart, re-stack, purchase of a print (Cough), share, read, etc….helps support me in my endeavor.
Cheers,
Mark
